Our Student Internship Program


The Internship Program at Colaska is designed to provide you with practical construction experience that will supplement your education. This work experience will allow you the opportunity to expand your knowledge of the construction industry through hands-on project involvement. As an intern with Colaska, you will be involved and have specific project responsibilities assigned to you. From the first day on the job you will find specific projects and responsibilities assigned to you. Daily activities will enable you to experience construction processes and management methods first hand. Supervisors and project staff will structure your work efforts to help you learn about construction management methods while you contribute directly to the completion of a quality project. Colaska accepts the responsibility to provide work assignments with increasing challenge and responsibility based on your abilities and education. The assignments are expected to be in a variety of situations that allow you to develop technically, broaden your practical background, and explore your own interests. Intern opportunities are available within each of Colaska's different construction divisions. During your internship with Colaska you may be assigned to work with a union construction crew in a field situation. This field experience will provide you with a hands-on, fundamental approach to the construction industry. You may also be assigned as an assistant in one of the following areas: Project Management and Engineering, Project Supervision and Estimating. Colaska believes that these experiences are essential to the understanding of how the organization operates. To be considered for our internship program, students should have completed at least one year of college and submit a resume for consideration.
